Massive Music Weekend!

Once again, the radio station I am part of, WRCT, is doing its “Massive Music Weekend” celebration, where we bury the entirety of the weekend after Valentine’s Day in 60 continuous hours of half-hour blocks of our favorite artists. As usual, I’m doing a few (only five, though, down from last year’s eight!), and a lot more are happening that are interesting, so I’m providing a highlight schedule.

  • 1:00p, Friday: Wagon Christ (IDM, sort of trip-hop, acid)
  • 10:00p, Friday: Serge Gainsbourg (French pop and jazz)
  • 10:30p, Friday: Coil (by me! industrial, experimental)
  • 2:30a, Saturday: Pavement (classic indie rock)
  • 3:30a, Saturday: Sonic Youth (classic-er indie rock, noise rock)
  • 6:30a, Saturday: Tujiko Noriko (by me! Japan’s version of Björk)
  • 2:30p, Saturday: Growing (ambient rock)
  • 3:00p, Saturday: Max Richter (neoclassical)
  • 7:00p, Saturday: Nautilis (IDM)
  • 7:30p, Saturday: Leonard Nimoy (star trek)

  • 10:00a, Sunday: Mad Professor (classic dub)
  • 1:00p, Sunday: Black Dice (noise rock)
